Disabled access for Wheelchair Users (with assistance)
Four of our cottages have been developed with disabled access for wheelchair users in mind, to varying grades.
The Old Water Mill
The Old Water Mill has leant itself to the purpose particularly well; not only does it have a twin bedroom on the same floor as the living accommodation, but also a large wet-room en-suite, with flush to floor shower as well as WC and washbasin, installed to accommodate the needs of wheelchair users as well as the able-bodied, and a commode/shower wheelchair is available if needed. From the bedroom window there is a lovely view to be enjoyed whilst sitting in your chair and you have your own TV in there as well.
Millers Cottage also has a twin bedroom on the ground floor with easy access to the bathroom which has a removable ramp for the one shallow step up. There is a swivel bath seat available if needed – the shower is over the bath.
Sunset View Cottage
Sunset View Cottage was built for a lady in a wheelchair, and although we have made some alterations, we have kept disabled access in mind. There is a removable ramp for the step up to the front door and then everything is on one level. A swivel bath seat is available if required – the shower is over the bath. The large patio window opens from the sitting room onto a small patio with an easy ramp down into the private garden. The magnificent view across the Teifi Valley can be seen whilst sitting in your chair indoors or out.
The Mill House
The Mill House is suitable for a wheelchair user who can manage two steps with assistance. There is bedroom with a set of bunk beds on the ground floor as well as the bathroom, but there are two steps up to the living room with its magnificent inglenook fireplace, kitchen and dining area. There is a swivel bath seat available if required – the shower is over the bath.
There is no need for you to go out every day to enjoy your holiday – you can relax in your cottage, or if you’d like a breath of fresh air sit out on the patio or by the millpond and feel a part of the tranquillity of the unspoilt nature, watching ducks and the other birds going about their daily business, or the sheep and ponies on the mountain, read a book or magazine, or just listen quietly to your favourite music.
We will happily do whatever we can to make you feel at home and enjoy a holiday we hope you would like to repeat.
If you need to use a hoist you can either bring your own or give us the details of the kind of hoist you require and we can arrange for you to hire one for the duration of your stay. The cost is around £35.00 per week plus delivery of £25.00.
