Activities on Cwmiar Farm
Everyone needs a break from time to time, to recharge body and soul. Our unique location provides chance to experience a different pace of life. In addition, there are a number of activities available on Cwmiar Farm. Farming, playing, exploring and relaxing are all easy within our 100 acres of natural beauty.
The farm nestles in its own valley. As a result, Cwmiar Farm is a sun trap and is sheltered from the wind. A perfect place for relaxing by the millpond, watching nature, reading a book or perhaps enjoying a barbecue and a drink or two.
To keep our visitors and animals safer we do ask that cars are parked in our car park during your stay at Cwmiar. However, on your arrival and departure days or if you or a member of your party has mobility issues, you can bring your car into the farmyard.
Play Areas
We have two separate play areas. One aimed at pre-schoolers which is fenced off and provides some play equipment suitable for this age. There is also a more adventurous play area for older children containing swings, a zip wire and play house.
We do ask that parents/guardians ensure that their children are supervised age-appropriately when on the farm.
The Club House
The club house provides a number of indoor activities such as a skittle alley, table tennis (both child and adult size tables), table football and a snooker table. There are also some toys and games. The club house is a place for fun whatever the weather. It provides a great place for socialising especially in the winter months.
LLanllwni Mountain
A gate takes you onto LLanllwni Mountain. This is a protected Special Landscape Area of common land. You are free to roam the open space. From Cwmiar Farm there are many interesting walks to go on. In addition, you are free to cycle and horse-ride over the mountainside. There are spectacular views that reach as far as the Brecon Beacons. In addition, ponies and sheep roam the mountain and there are streams to paddle in.
Near us is a mountain car park that is designated a Dark Sky Discovery Site. From here, on a clear, dark night the Milky Way can be observed. As we are less than a mile from the car park (as a crow flies), you can find out the best times for star gazing at Cwmiar Farm.

“Another AMAZING stay”
You are able to fully immerse yourself into farm life. From feeding the pigs, chickens and sheep to collecting eggs, helping Kay to count the sheep and cows each day and some old school fun playing in the farm stream.
We even got to help to rescue a baby calf that had been separated from its mum. Kay truly values every single life on her farm and really does do an incredible job of allowing the kids and adults to see first hand what goes in to looking after animals with love and care. Both adults and children have made memories here that we simply wouldn’t get anywhere else.
