The Old Water Mill was a threshing mill built hundreds of years ago. The date 1773 is etched on the extension so we assume that the main building was built prior to that.
The mill is now a relaxing, comfortable and cosy cottage with all modern conveniences However, by keeping the stonework, the exposed beams and the water wheel it retains its original character and olde worlde charm.
Built on a slope, the upper door opens into a spacious open plan living area. The hand crafted kitchen has a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, family size electric oven and a gas hob with 5 burners. There is a dining area with hand made dining table and chairs and a sitting area with a wood-burner and tv/dvd player. A door beside the kitchen area leads to stairs to the lower ground floor. Here there is a utility area containing a washer/dryer and another entrance to the cottage. Additionally, there is a private patio with large barbecue and garden furniture.
From the sitting room enjoy magnificent views across the fields to Llanllwni mountain. In this room a large pulley wheel, which was turned by the water wheel, is displayed on the wall and part of the barrel of the threshing machine is re-incarnated as a log basket!
The Old Water Mill Bedrooms
A door from the living room leads into the wheelchair accessible twin bedroom. This room contains two adult size single beds, a wardrobe and dressing table with drawers under.
