Our disabled-friendly farm holiday cottages consist of 6 self catering child friendly holiday cottages, 4 of them being Wheelchair Friendly Holiday Cottages to varying degrees:
– The Mill House is suitable for someone who can manage a couple of steps up to the living room, or a child who can be lifted.
– Sunset View Cottage was actually built for a lady who was confined to a wheelchair
– Miller’s Cottage has a bedroom on the ground floor, as is the bathroom,
– The Old Water Mill has a bedroom on the same level as the sitting room, with an en-suite shower room, wc and basin; there is a shower chair as well. There is an entrance door on both levels as it is built on a hill.
All our wheelchair friendly holiday cottages are around the yard, so if you wish to have a holiday together with your extended family or with many of your friends, we have the right cottages for you.
When we began to develop our self catering farm holiday cottages, we had the disabled (wheelchair users) in mind to take account of market demand. Since Gamal became “one of them” we realized that there is more to it than providing a ramp!
We are a real working farm. Our guests tell us they find our Self Catering Holiday Cottages somehow unique; they enjoy the extraordinary location, the surrounding unspoilt nature and the abundance of animals & birds on the farm, but someone who is disabled and can only sit in the cottage all day because they are confined to a wheelchair, wouldn’t be able to partake in any of that; so we have done our utmost to make sure that he/she can join in with everyone else. We have made all our amenities accessible by a wheelchair. That, on the slope of a mountain, was a challenge but we enjoyed it.
Four of our cottages have been developed to suit people with varying degrees of disability – The Old Water Mill, Miller’s Cottage, Sunset View Cottage and The Mill House. An access statement for each can be found here.
